Senior Legal & Compliance Officer
The Hellenic Energy Exchange S.A. (HEnEx) is looking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Senior Legal & Compliance Officer to join its Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department, with a supporting role in its Compliance Unit.
Your duties and responsibilities will include
• Provide legal support to the organizational structures of EnExGroup and its markets.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and support corporate bodies such as the Board of Directors and the General Meeting.
• Draft and review corporate regulations, policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Draft and review contractual agreements and documents with external stakeholders.
• Support the monitoring and implementation of national and European regulatory frameworks related to the energy markets.
• Contribute to the assessment, adaptation, and alignment of the Company’s regulatory framework in accordance with evolving legal and institutional developments.
• Support compliance with applicable national and EU laws, supervisory requirements and internal policies in collaboration with the Compliance Unit.
• Conduct legal risk identification, prevention, mitigation, and crisis management.
• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures.
• Monitor the Company's adherence to its statutory and regulatory obligations.
• Support the drafting of reports and recommendations for improving compliance and governance structures.
• Identify, assess, and propose mitigation measures for compliance and legal risks.
• Support communication with regulatory and supervisory authorities.
Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in law (from a domestic university or equivalent certification from the pertinent Greek organizations).
• Postgraduate Diploma in Law with a subject related to the Company's activities.
• Admission to Athens Bar or other Lawyers’ Bar in Greece.
• At least 7 years of proven experience as a Lawyer, with experience in the field of energy and in corporate law and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in legal drafting and in advising on complex legal and regulatory matters.
• Proven experience as a Compliance Officer and/or certification as a Compliance Officer will be considered a plus, ideally within a legal setting.
Skills
• Good knowledge and understanding of power and natural gas markets and related legal frameworks.
• Good knowledge and understanding of corporate governance, company law, and compliance principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
• Excellent communication and cooperation skills.
• Ability to prioritize various duties and multitask is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and multiple roles.
• Independent thinker.
• Highly motivated to grow professionally.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
